AURORAS FROM SPACE: A solar wind stream is buffeting Earth's magnetic field and stirring up geomagnetic activity around the Arctic Circle. "On March 11th," reports Paul McCrone, "the DMSP F-18 weather satellite recorded a dramatic auroral event over northern Canada."



McCrone processed the image at the US Navy's Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center in Monterey, California. It shows a broad swirl of Northern Lights stretching from Newfoundland across Quebec to the Hudson Bay. "I included an infrared image to show that this is really not a cloud," he says. Auroras are not strong sources of infrared radiation, but clouds are, so infrared images can be used to distinguish the two.

WITH THE ERUPTION OF THE 'Great Magnetic Filament' THAT COULD BE HEADING TO EARTH BY THE 27TH COULD CAUSE THE MAGNETOSPHERE TO BE UNDER PRESSURE. SOME BELIEVE AND I DO THIS COULD CAUSE STRESS ON THE PLATES. JUST A HEADS UP FOR ANY AREA. ON TOP OF THIS ALSO WITH THE UPCOMING FULL MOON THIS COULD GET INTERESTING. TAKE PRECAUTIONS NOW AND PREPARE JUST IN CASE.


HAVN'T REALLY SEEN ANY INFORMATION ON HOW LARGE THE CME'S ARE OR FOR SURE WHERE THEY ARE HEADING JUST A HEADS UP.

No te has visto ninguna información de cómo es grande la CME realizan o con seguridad de dónde se dirigen JUST A HEADS UP.

Agradecemos tu mensaje. Viene esto, a las mías. Mas o menos es lo que avisamos aquí, en muchos posts, cuando hay explosiones solares y se comprime la magnetosfera. Por eso decimos que se verán los resultados en la tierra entre las próximas 24/78 horas, después de la explosión y compresión de la magnetosfera .
